Ahmed El Hamawy
Managing Partner
As an ex-investment banker, Ahmed combines nine years of entrepreneurial, investment and corporate experience. His time as an analyst at KPMG’s Deal Advisory team focused on valuations and financial modelling. He was the youngest Senior Associate in the KPMG Doha office, and later joined QNB Capital; the Investment Banking arm of the largest bank in MENA. At QNB Capital, he led transactions across Mergers & Acquisitions, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets and Strategic Advisory. His most notable transactions include: The State of Qatar’s US$12b sovereign bond issuance (the largest emerging market bond of 2018), the IPO of a JV owned by the largest state-owned Qatari entity and a PPP development project for one of the FIFA 2022 World Cup precincts. ​
He is a CFA charter holder, holds a BSBA in Finance from the American University of Sharjah and an MBA from the University of Oxford.

Caspar Jopling
Founding Partner
Caspar is a critically acclaimed art consultant and angel investor. He previously worked in the CEO office at Sotheby's on Special Projects, Corporate Development and Strategy. His work with Sotheby's focused on Contemporary and Modern Art, where he was able to see first-hand the future market innovation caused by data utilisation, artificial intelligence / machine learning and blockchain technology. He is a partner at New Heights Ventures, an early-stage fund that invests in the health and wellness, sustainability and tech sectors. Prior to his university years, he competed internationally in rowing; representing Great Britain at multiple World Junior Rowing Championships and Team GB at the Youth Olympics in 2010.

He holds a BA in History of Art and Architecture from Harvard and an MBA from the University of Oxford.

Dalia Kamar
Assistant Vice President
Dalia is an integral part of the entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem in the Middle East and North Africa region. She began her journey at RiseUp, where she led the brand and marketing strategy that scaled the event to become the largest entrepreneurship event in MENA. She was promoted to manage RiseUp Summit 2017, and was recognized as the youngest event manager in the region and among the “25 under 25” youth in Egypt in 2017. She later joined FOUNDERSEMEDIA as Chief of Product, where she established a network of media and startup digital brands under WAYA and Era and organized events at film festivals. She is an experienced startup mentor and represents MENA on the advisory board of SXSW - the largest entertainment and technology event in the world responsible for the success of many companies including Twitter, Siri, Foursquare and Pinterest. Dalia is a passionate storyteller who thrives on building and developing teams, she believes that startups exemplify the whole being greater than the sum of its parts.

She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Business - Marketing from the American University in Cairo.

Omar Hamdy
Partner
Having spent over nine years working in Private Banking and Wealth Management, Omar is a fundraising expert. He began his career in Corporate Risk Management at Ahli Bank in Qatar, but quickly pivoted to build upon his passion for client interaction. He became a Relationship Officer in Private Banking and was promoted twice to become the youngest Relationship Manager in the bank. ​He previously managed USD 1b worth of assets, across a diverse portfolio of clients from the Middle East and Africa region. Omar is equipped with the necessary skill set to identify and source investment opportunities, and has first-hand experience managing client’s investments across various asset classes. ​

He is a proactive mentor and angel investor and holds a BA in Finance from the American University in Cairo.
